A short animated film about a flower lover becoming a recognised floral artist with gentle help along the way
A short mixed-media animation of an aspiring florist gaining recognition through the help of a stranger.
The story is inspired by the concept of cultural relations in international development. It looks at the relationship as something that is respectful and helps enable individuals to thrive in their chosen professions. The film fuses different handicraft elements to emphasise the concept of ‘co-crafting’ as an evolved form of ‘co-creating’ and ‘collaborating’. Co-crafting suggests a method of creating a community that helps each other to focus on mastering our own unique craft within a long-lasting ecosystem of creative support.
The film was made in response to JP Singh’s report, ‘Cultural Relations of Negotiating Development: Developing Inclusive and Creative Economises at the British Council’ (2021).
