“When the wind blows, know that I’m there”
Installation of eight urushi lacquer windmills in my late brother’s memory.
The installation explores our responses when an opportunity to imagine connecting with the deceased is presented before us. In the fleeting moment when the wind blows and the mills spin, a meditatative space for a quiet contemplative dialogue with those who have departed is created. My hope was that the experience offered each visitor in need of some comfort and answer would gain a sense of reconciliation and forgiveness when death steals someone special.
